Situation
Animal Health Ireland (AHI), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving livestock health and farmer welfare, was facing challenges in managing their extensive programs. As the organization grew, the traditional methods of handling data, communicating with farmers, and managing event registrations became increasingly inefficient. The lack of a centralized, digital platform was creating bottlenecks, resulting in delays, missed communications, and excessive manual effort.

The challenge
With data spread across multiple systems and formats, AHI struggled to maintain a unified view of their operations. This made it difficult to track program participants, manage event logistics, and maintain accurate records.
The manual processes used for sending event notifications and program updates to farmers were time-consuming and error prone. This led to missed opportunities for timely engagement and increased the risk of farmers missing important information.
Farmers faced difficulties registering for programs and events, accessing relevant documentation, and obtaining participation certificates. This not only hindered their experience but also placed an additional burden on AHI’s administrative staff.

Animal Health Ireland implemented a comprehensive Power Platform solution leveraging Power Apps, Power Pages, and Power Automate to centralize operations, automate communications, and empower farmers with a self-service portal.
Power Apps — Centralized Data Management : Developed a model-driven app serving as the backbone for comprehensive database management of farmers, veterinary professionals, program details, and events with real-time accessibility.
Power Automate — Automated Workflows : Integrated automation to streamline event reminders, program updates, and notifications to farmers, eliminating manual handoffs and ensuring consistent, timely communication.
Power Pages — Self-Service Portal : Built a user-friendly portal empowering farmers to manage accounts, register for programs, access documentation, and download certificates directly, reducing administrative workload.
